In 1937, Die Wehrmacht continued its numbering from 1936, opening with issue number 5. Issue number 15 from June was notable for having both a regular cover and a variation cover. That year also saw two special color cover editions, both illustrated by Theo Matejko — one being a regular issue with a color cover, and the other a Sonderausgabe titled Die Wehrmacht Manöver 1937, which featured extra pages. Additionally, the magazine began including occasional single-page color insert plates — known as 8 farbige Bildtafel — depicting insignia, flags, and uniforms of the German armed forces.
