Articles Inside:
Technique of Invasion
After More than two years of war against the Japanese, the United States has polished its Pacific invasion technique to a point approaching perfection in the movement of great armies and vast quantities of materiel to a given striking point. The operations at Hollandia and Tanahmerah Bay, New Guinea, emphasized this again. On these dual missions, YANK had two photographers. They were Sgt. Dick Hanley and Cpl. Bill Alcine. Their work has been combined to give the remarkably complete coverage of an amphibious operation printed on these and the following two pages.
