The Accidental Crossing of the Rhine at Remagen ……. Cover: This unusual picture by YANK’s Sgt. Reg Kenny shows the railroad tunnel at the east end of the Ludendorf bridge. When the tunnel was flushed by the first men of the 27th Armored Infantry Regiment to cross the now famous bridge, five jerry engineers were found. Later the tunnel was used as an advance aid station.
