Although outmoded and superseded by the Grumman “Wildcat,” this ship is still in service in certain detachments and has long been associated with the Corps. The insignia at the bottom of the cover are left, Marine Scout Bombing Squadron (VMSB) 231; center, Marine Fighting Squadron (VMF) 111; right, Marine Fighting Squadron (VMF) 211, organized January 1, 1937.
