LIFE BLOOD OF THE A TC
Efficiently serving the A TC, expertly trained radio operators
and teletypists of the 122nd Communications Squadron keep up a
steady click receiving and sending vital measages over the airways.

than one message is received every minute 24-hours a day, S. Sgt.
Norman Crawford (left) is shown logging incoming messages while
Pfc. Noel Maxwell is busy censoring messages for security reasons.
ALEUTIAN GI’s LUNCH WITH PRESIDENT
President Roosevelt (center at table) sits between two enlisted
soldiers at a Naval Operations Base in the Aleutians, Alaska, as he
has chow with the soldiers of the Base in their me .. hall. The President
stopped off at the Aleutians during his Pacific tour.

construction the Post Engineers outfit can rightfully be
proud of a job well done. The Post Engineers have done much to

WINTERBURN JUNGLES
After making a Isix-mile push through the mosquito infested
jungles of Winterburn, Pfc. Edward McMullen stops for a welcome
five· minute break while Pvt. Charlel Hyde keeps a sharp lookout
for enemy snipers. They are members of Pearson’s Commandos who
are taking a refresher course at Winter burn, Alta.
