Preface
In presenting this record of the 190th Field Artillery Battalion, it is desired to point out to the readers a few pertinent facts before he scans these pages.
This record of events was written in Beharov, Czechoslovakia, in June 1945, one month after the unconditional surrender of the German Armies, which brought to a close the European phase of World War II.
At the time of writing, the destiny of the Battalion was uncertain because of the Asiatic phase of World War II. The record could not be completed. In the months to come, other chapters may well be written.
The narration has been written for men. The light style of presentation was chosen in an attempt to make an easy reading chronicle and to present highlights which will recall other highlights to the men about which this account is written.
Every attempt has been made so that this history will be an accurate story of the activities of the 190th Field Artillery Battalion from 1941 to 1945.
