Prior to January 1943 issues were published by personnel of the USNRAB ( U.S. Naval Reserve Aviation Base ). In January 1943 the Base was redesignated U.S. Naval Air Station and publication was eventually taken over by the Public Relations Department of the USNAS, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The format for the early issues was a monthly 6-5/8″ x 8-1/2″ followed by a larger 8-1/8″ x 10-1/2″ biweekly, then weekly.
