Douglas Army Air Field

Douglas Army Air Field was a U.S. Army Air Forces training base located near Douglas, Arizona, established in 1942 during World War II. It served primarily as an advanced flying training facility, focusing on multi-engine pilot instruction (training pilots for aircraft like the AT-17 and later bombers). After the war, the base was deactivated, and portions of the site were eventually converted to civilian use — today it operates as Bisbee-Douglas International Airport.
