Bowman Army Air Base
Bowman Field, located in Louisville, Kentucky, served as an Army Air Forces installation during World War II, primarily used for basic and liaison pilot training as well as troop carrier and glider operations. It was home to units training pilots to fly liaison aircraft and gliders in support of airborne operations, and also functioned as an Air Transport Command station.
