Camp Edwards on Cape Cod, Massachusetts - The Camp News

Camp Edwards on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, grew from a small National Guard post into a major Army training center in 1940–41, first hosting New England’s 26th “Yankee” Division. It became known for amphibious training by the Engineer Amphibian Command and for its antiaircraft artillery program, which prepared many AAA gun and searchlight battalions for combat overseas. Later in the war it also held German POWs and ran a large hospital, and today it’s part of Joint Base Cape Cod.
