APO 800 Wurzburg, Germany - Bavarian Occupost
25th Base Post Office (APO) 800 was located in Würzburg, Germany. It was used by U.S. forces operating in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) during the final stages of the war in 1945 and for a period immediately after the conflict.
The Bavarian Occupost was the weekly newspaper of the 25th Base Post Office, published by its I and E (Information and Education) Section, APO 800, out of Wurzburg, Germany. It was written for the men of the 25th Base — the postal workers, guards, motor pool, and other sections of that outfit — covering their unit news, sports, promotions, departures/replacements, and daily life in the occupation.
