The Women of St. Mars – “Hello , Amerikanski!” “Hello, Russky!” Those were the simple greetings between GIs pressing eastward and Valentina Matfeieff, one of the 215 Russian women whom the Nazis shipped to France to work as a section gang on the railroad.
