Turner Field was named after Second lieutenant Sullins Preston
Turner, a popular ‘Georgian who lost his life in the line of duty.

Colonel John B. Patrick is Commanding Officer of Turner
Field. He is both a Command Pilot and Combat Observer.

The enlisted personnel of the field have been rated amongst
the best in the Southeast Army Air Forces Training Center. They
“Keep ‘Em Flying” twenty-four hours a day.
