7 New Year’s Days

It is the custom on New Year’s Day to look retrospectively on events and to make resolutions for the new year. In this issue, Army Talks imagines itself on seven New Year’s Days, looking back over the year that has just ended, summarizing the events. Such a review makes a concise history of World War II. From his own memory, each can contribute the supplement to these accounts; each can fill in the date when the war began for him, when he reached the United Kingdom and France, and all those other important events which may be more real than the war itself. And each may resolve, at the start of 1945, that the Allied Nations will conclude the German war this year and bring peace again to the world.
