The Open Road for Boys

The Open Road for Boys magazine was published monthly beginning in 1919 by Open Road Publishing Company, Boston Massachusetts. The magazine series has many tales of adventurous boys and men traveling to far away places, battling fierce creatures of the wild or America’s enemies. The popular magazine also started the Open Road Pioneers’ Club in 1928. The magazine’s format is 8-3/8″ x 11-1/2″ with 30 to 60 pages. Open Road reduced publishing to 10 issues per year omitting January and August beginning in 1941 due to low readership in those months.
